Radiohead’s Creep Covered By a Scary Choir of Blonde Chicks

Here’s a cool thing, a bunch of Belgian girls singing the eeriest version of Radiohead’s Creep.

Dale Watson to Release New Album “Call Me Insane” in June

Dale Watson is releasing an album on June 9th according the Saving Country Music.

Dale Watson’s website does not reflect this news.

Dale Watson is a country music singer whose fans would label as “real country music” and while I try to steer away from labeling my personal tastes as real metal or real hip-hop a new listener to Dale Watson and his Lone Stars would hear a throw back sound that still feels very modern. I learned of Dale Watson years ago when I had Sirius satellite radio and Whiskey or God was heavily played on the Outlaw Country station.

I don’t know a whole lot about country music, I’m learning more and more everyday, but Dale Watson is someone I’ve enjoyed for years and whenever he releases something I’m always excited to give it a listen.

clipping. Release a New Weird Video for “Summertime”

Summertime comes off of their second album CLIPPNG. The video features an almost regular beach scene with MC Daveed Diggs’ face copied and pasted over other people’s faces. Like everything clipping. releases it’s the right amount of strange, entertaining and interesting.

A little taste of what’s been going through my ears recently and why:

***Rich Gang “Flava” from The Tour Part 1 Mixtape***

I’m on the Young Thug bandwagon. Like many on this bandwagon, I have no idea why I’m on it, I just know I’m here and enjoying my time. Rich Homie Quan ain’t a slouch either.

***White Lighter “Omen” from Self Titled Debut***

This is a dude who probably stuggles to pay rent, but I’ve been following Mark Salomon for a long time and his song writing sticks with me. This might be too normal for some people, but it’s a solid rock song and I’m just a fan.

***Tool “Rosetta Stoned” from 10,000 Days***

I feel most fans dislike this album and I was right there with them, but many of these songs have grown on me over the years and Rosetta Stoned is one of the weirdest songs they’ve ever written and here it is for you.

***BLKHRTS “Pack a Day” from Death,Romance and the color BLK***

This is one of the many Deathbomb Arc bands I’m fucking with. The jury is still out on many of these, I threw this in there because it’s a taste of what the label shoots for. They recently released a sampler on bandcamp, google it cause I don’t feel like linking to it.

***White Mandingos “My First White Girl” The Ghetto is Tryna Kill Me***

Murs has a way of being funny and satirical but at the same time having a real message. If you get the message in this song you might be dumb or if you don’t you might be dumb… does that make any sense?

***Cannibal Corpse “Kill of Become” From “A Skeletal Domain”

I’m gonna go see Cannibal Corpse along with Behemoth in a few days and this song is cool, zombies and killing and what not. Can’t wait to FIRE UP THE CHAINSAW-HACK ALL THEIR FUCKING HEADS OFF-IF YOU WANT TO LIVE YOU HAVE TO KILL OR BECOME

Raygun (Feat DOOM) by Ghostface Killah and BADBADNOTGOOD

For those of us on the edge of our seats waiting for the occasionally talked about Doomstarks record, here’s a taste of what’s to come. Ghostface Killah and Doom have previously worked together on a number of tracks.

It should also be noted that this song is not an early release from the Doomstarks record but a release from Ghostface Killah’s new record with BADBADNOTGOOD, a great collaboration in its own right.

Sour Soul by BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah comes out February 24th.
Doomstarks comes out in 2015.

Lambgoat Compiles a Sortable List of All the Hardcore and Metal Albums That Were Released in 2014

Maybe you’d like to review how good 2014 was for heavy music? Well if that’s the case the guys at Lambgoat have compiled a list of all the releases in the world of hardcore and metal released in 2014.

I will be visiting this often next year as it was impossible to keep up with everything that was happening in the extreme music world when you’re spending so much time listening to other kinds of music too.

Dälek Releases First New Music in 4 Years

It’s been years since Dälek has released new material. This video is timely and very socially aware. The beat isn’t as crazy as most Dälek fans would want and hope for but new music on a topic that is important makes me excited about what might be coming right around the corner.

The song will be featured on the upcoming film 6 Angry Women.

“Police State is Nervous” is Dälek’s first new music release since 2011. Hopefully soon we get solid information on a new album and a tour.

clipping. Release New Video For “Get Up”

Clipping is currently putting out some of the best hip hop you can find. Their first album Midcity (and is free) took the internet by storm and created an avant-garde piece of hip-hop that was still accessible due to Daveed Diggs’ flow and lyrical style. Get Up is from their new album released by Sub Pop.

William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes create intense atmosphere of noise and quiet for Diggs’ to wrap his lyrics around. This is their new video ‘Get Up’ all set Daveed Diggs rapping over the obnoxious noise of an alarm clock. You’d think it’d be terrible but both the sounds and sights keep you hypnotized.

Flying Lotus – Never Catch Me ft. Kendrick Lamar

This is my favorite music video of the year. Mastodon’s recent video for their song Motherload is close but it’s not quite what Flying Lotus has put together here along with another great featured verse by Kendrick Lamar.

The video has to be watched all the way through, but it mixes dark and happy quite well. The production and the beat is just what it should be, not overbearing but at the same time different and special, something Flying Lotus does all over his new album You’re Dead.

This video is both dark and beautiful.

Earthgang Releases Video For F Bomb

Here’s some hip hop I’ve been enjoying for a little while. Came on late to Earthgang, heard them first on the Boondocks Mixtape a few months ago. Been following ever since, they also have a free mixtape called “Shallow Graves for Toys” on bandcamp which is worth a listen.
