The Descendants [Review]

The Descendants Review

This film was wonderful. Everything about it was great. The pacing, the acting, the moral questions and the awkward coloring of who is and who isn’t the protagonist and antagonist were all enjoyable, heart wrenching and original at the same time.

George Clooney continues to choose great movies to be a part of in this section of his career. Perhaps it’s because he found fame a bit later in his acting career or perhaps it’s because he’s overall a pretty intelligent guy, but Ides of March, Men Who Stare At Goats and Up in the Air have all been entertaining performances. Even The American was a good try, even if it did end up sucking.

This film was nominated among a slew of good films for the 2012 Oscars and it wouldn’t have hurt me at all if it had beat out The Artist (although if you’d ask me which is better I’d have a hard time answering).
